A Liverpool side full of new-found confidence will continue their chase for European places on Sunday when they welcome a downbeat Swansea team to Anfield in the Barclays Premier League.

Klopp looking for first home league win

When Liverpool last won a league game at Anfield (against Aston Villa in September), Brendan Rodgers was still the manager. Since then, new boss Jurgen Klopp has guided them to one draw (Southampton) and a defeat (Crystal Palace) on home soil. But despite the lack of a home league win, the Reds now look like a team full of confidence.

Away wins at Chelsea and Manchester City plus a record of just one defeat in eight matches in all competitions, including four wins in the last five games, have given the team from Merseyside reason to believe that the future could be bright under their new German incumbent.

One win in nine for Swansea

Since beating Manchester United at home way back in August, Garry Monks’ men have just one win to their name – a 2-1 victory at bottom club Aston Villa. In total, they have lost four of their last five away games and have slipped down to 14th place in the table.

The Swans desperately need a boost and were hoping to achieve it at home to out-of-form newcomers Bournemouth last week. Unfortunately, they could only manage a 2-2 draw after coming from two goals down.

Prediction and best odds

Liverpool are coming into this game on the back of a 4-1 demolition of Man City away from home. In contrast, Swansea had to battle back to earn a draw against lowly Bournemouth in the last game. The Reds are clear favourites to bag their first home win in the league for Klopp and can be backed at 4/9 with Bet365.

Both teams have scored in 66.7% of Liverpool’s home games and 66.7 % of Swansea’s away matches. You can back Both Teams to Score at 10/11 with or follow your opinion. Best promotion for new players at Betfair.
