Euro 2016 round of 16 continues as teams are eliminated from the tournament. As Belgium, Croatia, England, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Slovakia, Switzerland and Spain get knocked out, the following teams qualify; Belgium, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, and Wales.

The best third placed teams to qualify for the round of 16 where Northern Ireland, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, and Slovakia.

The tournament will be finalised and decided Sunday July 10th with either Portugal or Wales playing Germany or France in Saint Denis: 8PM GMT / 9PM CET.

Semi finals

Wednesday, July 6

Portugal vs Wales in Lyon  8PM GMT / 9PM CET

You could be forgiven for thinking this match is a Gareth Bale vs Cristiano Ronaldo showdown.  Welsh fans must be hoping it doesn’t go to penalties.

Thursday, July 7 

Germany vs France in Marseille 8PM / 9PM CET

A final between Wales and Germany would go down in history as surprise to most people including bookmakers and a final between Portugal and Germany would be expected by most.

Germany’s Sami Khedira will miss the semi final due to injury after after a trip caused by Italy striker Eder.  Khedira joins injured Mario Gomez and banned Mats Hummels.

Wale’s Aaron Ramsey will miss the semi final due to suspension.

France have not players missing the semi final due to injury and have Adil Rami and N’Golo Kante returning from suspension.

Portugal have William Carvalho suspended and Pepe possibly out due to a thigh injury.
