Chelsea will be out to complete a league and FA Cup double when they take on Arsenal at Wembley on Saturday afternoon. The Gunners themselves will be keen to bag some silverware after missing out on a place in next season’s Champions League for the first time in 20 years.

Arsene Wenger’s men arrive in good shape having won their last five matches in a row. Their upturn in fortunes coincided with a tactical switch to a back three that was utilised for the rest of the campaign. Unfortunately, that still wasn’t enough to snatch fourth place in the league table from Liverpool who pipped them to post by a single point. As a result, the Londoners will now have to be content with a place in next year’s Europa League.

With pressure still weighing on the Frenchman’s shoulders, a cup win would bring a welcome sense of joy and relief to the Emirates Stadium. However, defeat could pave the way for more voices of discontent in the north of the capital.

Meanwhile, opponents Chelsea will be keen to add a second trophy to their haul in Antonio Conte’s first season in charge. The Blues have also successfully employed a back three since losing to the Gunners at the end of September.

They come into this game on the back of eight wins in their last nine games, including six-straight wins in the Premier League. Since claiming the English league crown three weeks ago, the Londoners have scored nine and conceded four on their way to victory in their final two games.

Prediction

With similar systems at play at both sides in decent form, there should be little to separate the teams in the first half. With that in mind, the half time draw looks like a tempting bet.
