That’s right. It’s time for the Oscars. Billy Crystal will be the dishing up the Oscars this year, but, who’s been nominated? Last year was great for British acting and directing talent, but, don’t expect the Oscars 2012 to be the same. Except possibly for War Horse directed by Stephen Spielberg.
In the age of special affects, blue screen, and computer generated 3D, which James Cameron and Stephen Spielberg embrace, it’s surprising that nominations are lacking for motion-capture films like The Adventures of Tintin, with the motion bit being provided by Andy Serkis. Nor will the Oscars be going Ape for Planet of the Apes.
In homage to old Hollywood the Academy have served up a best picture nomination list peppered with Hollywood grandees. Back on top of the bill are Scorsese for Hugo, Spielberg for War Horse, Terrence Malick for The Tree of Life, and Allen for Midnight in Paris. Many believe the Artist will do well.
Without further a do, here’s the Oscar 2012 nominations.
