Premier League – Liverpool v Manchester United - Lets

Sunday afternoon will see two of English football’s biggest clubs and bitterest rivals meet head-to-head at Anfield in a top of the table clash, as Liverpool face Manchester United.

This game will be watched around the world as United look to put some distance between themselves and the chasing pack after a brilliant recent run of form. Liverpool have been displaced at the top of the table after a run of three games without a win, so Jurgen Klopp’s men will be desperate to get back to winning ways against their nearby foes.

League leaders arrive in red hot form

Manchester United arrive at Anfield sitting top of the Premier League, three points clear of Liverpool after their 1-0 midweek win at Burnley. That success made it four wins from five games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men and an eighth win in 10 matches.

The Red Devils will be confident of securing a famous win at the home of their fierce rivals and can boast the best away form in the Premier League. They have won seven and drawn one of the eight EPL games on the road, scoring 22 goals in the process.

The 1-0 win at Burnley was the first time in five games that United had failed to score two or more goals on their travels, and their counter attacking style will cause Liverpool a lot of problems.

The champions are suffering stuttering form

In contrast to United, Liverpool have not won any of their previous three games in a run that has included a 1-1 draw at home against West Brom and a recent 1-0 defeat at Southampton. It took them until the 75th minute to have a shot on target in that game and they have scored just one goal since Christmas.

However, the Reds can still boast the best home record in the Premier League with seven wins and one draw from eight games at Anfield, and they have secured a clean sheet against United in four of their last five home games against United.

Plenty of goal scorers on show

Both sides possess huge attacking talent, which should make for an open and exciting game. Liverpool’s Mo Salah leads the EPL goal scoring charts with 13 league goals, two ahead of United’s Bruno Fernandes. Marcus Rashford has also chipped in with seven goals for the Red Devils, whilst Sadio Mane has been on target six times for the champions.
