Due to the recent changes to the Wimbledon wildcard system by the Tennis Association 2015 has become the year of the wild card of wild cards. Predicting who was going to be named was difficult.
The Britons named where Liam Broady, Kyle Edmund, James Ward, Naomi Broady and Johanna Konta have all been granted wildcards for Wimbledon 2015.
Nice to see Naomi Broady named considering her excellent performance in 2014.
Surprisingly Lleyton Hewitt has been granted a first-round wildcard in the men’s draw having won just one match this year and dropped to 117th in the rankings, as has France’s Nicolas Mahut. Leyton was the champion in 2002.
