It has been a case of no Kane, no party for Tottenham Hotspur who have suffered two consecutive defeats without their talismanic frontman. They will be keen to nip their losing streak in the bud on Wednesday night when they meet reigning champions Real Madrid in the group stages of the Champions League. However, Kane remains a doubt once again.

The Londoners now appear more comfortable in their temporary Wembley home and have already defeated Borussia Dortmund at the former Olympic venue this term. They will also be confident of getting a result following their strong performance when the two sides drew 1-1 at the Bernabeu recently.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid come into this game on the back of a 2-1 defeat to lowly Girona in La Liga that leaves them eight points adrift of league leaders Barcelona, albeit with a game in hand. While their league form seem to have dipped, they still look like a force to be reckoned with on the European stage. Comfortable wins over APOEL and Borussia Dortmund preceded their recent draw against Spurs and they look to be well on course for qualification to the knockout stages. A draw here would suit them fine but a win would virtually seal their qualification.

Los Blancos have won all but one of their away games this term season. They have scored at least two goals in seven of their last eight on the road and will relish playing on the Wembley turf.

Prediction

With Harry Kane struggling for fitness, Spurs will find themselves at a massive disadvantage here, one that their opponents will be well prepared to take advantage of. As result, we may see a more cautious approach from the home side and repeat of the 1-1 scoreline produced in the last encounter looks like a decent bet.
