Aston Villa: LLWLL
Everton: LWWLD
Aston Villa’s desperate battle for Premier League survival will continue on Tuesday night when they welcome an unpredictable Everton side to Villa Park.
Villa need a win to kick-start survival bid
Aston Villa may need to win five or six of their remaining 11 fixtures if they are going to retain their top-flight status for another season. However, with just three victories to their name this term, the odds are stacked heavily against the Midland team.
There only hope may be to pick up a couple of wins over the next few weeks and hope that the teams above them continue to lose. A victory over Everton on Tuesday would certainly help their seemingly desperate cause.
In their last game, Remi Garde’s men put in a solid performance away to Stoke but were unable to take anything away from the game.
Everton hard to beat away from home
Everton may not have much to play for in the Premier League but with each position meaning a bigger share of the TV money – they will still be keen to finish as high up the table as possible.
The Toffees travel south to the Midlands with a strong away record, having been beaten just once on the road all season. That solitary defeat came away to Arsenal back in October. Overall, they have the sixth-best away record in the league.
In their last match, the Merseyside team fell to their sixth home defeat of the season when they were beaten 1-0 by West Bromwich Albion.
Prediction
Prior to their 6-0 hammering at the hands of Liverpool, Villa were unbeaten in four matches at home, having won two and drawn two. Everton have drawn seven of their 12 away games this season.
