Bournemouth will remain on course for Premier League survival on Tuesday night if they can take at least a point from seventh-ranked Southampton when the teams clash at the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth winless in three
Bournemouth have not won any of their last three Premier League matches but remain on course to avoid relegation in their first season in the top flight.
After back-to-back defeats at home to Arsenal and Stoke, Eddie Howe’s men bounced back to earn a point away to Watford. That point increased their gap over the bottom three teams to five points with 11 games remaining.
The Cherries have the second-worst home form in the league, having won just three games at the Vitality Stadium.
Lewis Grabban and Callum Wilson will miss out along with long-term absentee Tyrone Mings.
Saints still in Euro hunt
While Bournemouth are trying to stave off the threat of relegation, Southampton are still in the hunt for European places. The Saints are currently sat in seventh place in the Premier League table just three points behind the Europa League qualification spot.
In their last game, the Saints’ six-game unbeaten run was brought to an end when they fell 2-1 at home to a resurgent Chelsea side. Away from home, Ronald Koeman’s men are unbeaten in three, having won two and drawn one without conceding a goal.
The visitors will be without the injured trio of Victor Wanyama, Jay Rodriguez and Florin Grados for this clash.
Prediction
Bournemouth are poor on home soil, while the Saints are unbeaten in three on the road and have won six of their last eight Premier League matches.
