Norwich City vs Chelsea preview
Tuesday March 01, 2016 19:45pm – Carrow Road
Recent Form
Norwich City: LDLLL
Chelsea: WWDDW
Norwich City will try to break a seven-game winless run on Tuesday night when they entertain a Chelsea side who are unbeaten in 11 Premier League matches.
Norwich looking for a lifeline
Norwich City are teetering on the edge of the relegation abyss with just a single goal advantage keeping them out of the drop zone. However, relegation rivals Newcastle have a game in hand over the Norfolk side.
A defeat or even a draw on Tuesday night could plunge the Canaries into the drop zone, depending on the result of Sunderland’s game against Crystal Palace.
Over the last 10 games, Alex Neil’s men have the second-worse form in the league, and no team has worse form over the last six games. In addition, they have conceded 51 goals – a record only matched by Sunderland. In their last match, they were beaten by a single goal away to league leaders Leicester City.
Chelsea revival continues
Chelsea have still not lost a game under new boss Guus Hiddink, and their overall unbeaten record now stretches back 11 games.
After drawing four of their first five games under the Dutchman, the Blues have now started to turn those draws into victories. They have now won three of their last five Premier League matches and three of their last four away from home.
The Londoners come into this match on the back of an impressive 2-1 win away to Southampton – a result that lifted them to 11th place in the table. Over the last 10 matches, they have the third best form in the league and – based on their current trajectory – they are on course for a top six finish.
Prediction
Chelsea have tightened up defensively and have conceded just one goal in their last five away games. However, Norwich have a good scoring record at home, having netted in 11 of their 13 games.
