Recent Form

Watford: WLLWW

Norwich City: DLWLL

Two of the newly-promoted teams will go head-to-head on Saturday when 11th-ranked Watford welcome struggling Norwich to Vicarage Road in the Barclays Premier League.

Hornets halt losing run

After back-to-back defeats against Manchester United and Leicester, Watford bounced back with a good win away at Aston Villa. Quique Sanchez Flores’s team are now playing bolder, more expansive football as they look to consolidate their place in the Premier League.

The Hornets are nine points clear of the relegation zone and have increased their goal ratio in recent games. They have lost three games at home this season but all of those losses came against teams in the current top seven.

Heurelho Gomes suffered a neck injury in the last game but should be available for this clash, while Valon Behrami remains a doubt.

Norwich fighting hard for survival

Norwich City will travel to Watford with a spring in their step after securing a hard-earned point against Arsenal last weekend. The Canaries have now bagged four points from their last three games but are still sitting just three points above the drop zone. Over the last six games, only Bournemouth and Aston Villa have picked up fewer points than Alex Neil’s men.

Alexander Tettey could return from a thigh injury this weekend but Matt Jarvis is still at least a week away.

Prediction

Watford have been unpredictable at home but will still be favourites to win this game. Norwich have lost their last three away from home and they are vulnerable at the back having conceded in all their away games so far. Watford have kept four clean sheets at home and can be backed to Win to Nil at 5/2 with Bet365.

Odion Ighalo has scored eight times for the Hornets and can be backed at 13/8 to find the net anytime with Betfair.

Troy Deeney has scored in four of Watford’s last five games and can be backed to score anytime at 15/8 with Bet365.
