West Brom: DWLLW

Tottenham Hotspur: DWDWW

West Brom will attempt to avoid defeat for the third game in a row on Saturday when in-form Tottenham Hotspur pay a visit to the Hawthorns in the Barclays Premier League.

Baggies improving at home

West Brom failed to win any of their first four home games in the current Premier League campaign but have now won two of the last three. Those victories came against struggling Sunderland and title contenders Arsenal. However, the Baggies still have a better record away from the Hawthorns having picked up 11 of their 18 points on the road.

They come into this game on the back of a deserved 1-1 draw away to West Ham United. Only Aston Villa and Stoke have scored less goals than West Brom this season.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis has no new injury concerns ahead of this weekend’s game.

Tottenham edging closer to top four

While the teams above them have been dropping points, Tottenham have been slowly closing the gap, and are now just four points adrift of the top spot. They have picked up more points over the last 10 games than any other team in the league.

Since losing 0-1 at Manchester United on the opening day, Spurs have gone on a 13 game unbeaten run which has included seven draws and six wins. In their last match, they played out a 0-0 stalemate at home to Chelsea.

Spurs Coach Mauricio Pochettino will be without midfielder Ryan Mason for this clash.

Prediction

West Brom have improved slightly at home but lack the goal threat required to deal with the second best defence in the league. Spurs have scored in their last five away games and but have only kept one clean sheet in that time. However, they have yet to face a team with such a poor goal-scoring record on their travels.
