Premier League

Arsenal’s title hopes seem to be fading fast – can they revive them on Saturday when they welcome a Watford side who are struggling for form to the Emirates? Or will they frustrate their fans once again?

While the league title is slowly slipping from the Gunner’s grasp, their place in the top four is also under threat from the chasing pack. Another other than a victory this weekend could be disastrous for Arsene Wenger and his men.

The North London side are 11 points behind league leaders Leicester City, but with a game in hand. Meanwhile, over their shoulders, fifth-ranked West Ham United are just five points back. In total, Wenger’s men have won just three of their last 10 league fixtures.

After exiting the Champions League at the hands of Barcelona, Arsenal got back to winning ways in the last game week with a 2-0 league win away to Everton.

With Premier League survival the main priority this season it seems like a case of job done for Watford. The Hornets have an 11 point gap over the first relegation-threatened side with seven fixtures left to play. However, boss Quique Sanchez Flores will not have been happy with his side’s recent dip in form.

After briefly challenging for the European qualification places earlier in the season, the Hertfordshire side have since slipped to 14th place in the table. They will go into this match buoyed by the fact that they recently dumped Arsenal out of the FA Cup.

Prediction

Arsenal have been victorious in just one of their last four league games on home soil, while Watford have won just one of their last six games on the road. In addition, the visitors failed to score in four of their last five away games.

The Gunners have plenty still to play for and should have enough to come out on top.
