Iceland: WLWWWW

Hosts France will continue their quest to win a third major trophy on home soil when they face England-slayers Iceland in Saint-Denis on Sunday night.

France have never lost to Iceland in 11 previous meetings, but their opponents will be coming into this game full of confidence after back-to-back wins against Austria and England.

The French have proved the importance of home advantage in the past, having won two major tournaments on home soil in 1984 (World Cup) and 1998 (Euros).

The most recent meeting between the two sides came in a Valenciennes friendly back in May 2012. On that occasion, Iceland took a two goal lead before France mounted a second half comeback to snatch a 3-2 win.

While past results have not been great for Iceland, they are playing at a completely different level now and have some serious momentum on their side. They will certainly be the neutrals choice on Sunday night.
