This weekend the Barclays Premier League offer us some great opportunities in the Under and Over 2.5 goals market. So let’s take a look at the matches involved and explore the very best possibilities.

Over 2.5 goals:

The first match that catches the eye this week is the clash at the Hawthorns between West Bromwich Albion and Arsenal. The Baggies are just above average when it comes to finding the net on home soil with an overall strike rate of 1.7 per game. Manchester City will travel to the south coast to take on high-flying Southampton at St. Mary’s this weekend. The Saints top the table when it comes to home goals with an average of 2.8 goals scored per home game thanks largely to their 8-0 demolition of Sunderland. Their opponents from the blue side of Manchester have the second best away goal strike rate in the league with an average of 2.2 goals scored per game. With an average combined total of 3 goals per home game for Southampton and 3.5 goals per away game for City, this looks that a prime candidate for Over 2.5 goals.

Under 2.5 goals:

Burnley v Aston Villa looks like the best bet for the low score market with the home side averaging just 0.7 goals per game at Turf Moor and Villa managing a measly average of just 0.3 goals per away game. Burnley have conceded 1.5 goals per home game but that trend is unlikely to be matched by Paul Lambert’s team. Stick this one in the Under 2.5 goal column.
